GARRETT GAGNON
Music Director / Arranger
Tenor
For two years, Garrett watched the Broncords perform at his high school, and then he jumped on the chance to audition when he came to WMU this year. He is pumped to sing tenor with the group, and he’s planning to try his hand at arranging music as well. Garrett’s having a little identity crisis, though, because he’s majoring in Mechanical Engineering…
Sr. Music Director / Arranger
Tenor / Baritone / Percussionist
Matt has been in the group since 2008, and been the Music Director since 2009. Being a Music Education major with a choral focus, he naturally fell into the position of the group “music geek”. We’re excited to still have him around this season and will be sad to see him go in April.
Tenor
Chase is a newbie. He is a freshman Vocal Performance major with a shameless addiction to the stage. A few of Chase’s favorite things include: musical theatre, Sour Patch Kids, quoting lines from Mean Girls, and doing hood-rat stuff with his friends. Chase is most looking forward to the Broncords tour at the end of the season!
MAXWELL HAHN
Treasurer (aka: “Treasure Manager”)
Bass
Max is a new Broncord this year. Here at Western he’s getting a Film degree and a minor in Audio Engineering at the College of Music. When he graduates he hopes he can have a career in audio production and audio editing. His hobbies consist of: playing guitar, playing N64, disc golf, and playing fusball.
ZACH HUSAK
Tenor
This is Zach’s first year with the Broncords. Along with being a member of the group, he’s also a member of the WMU Collegiate Singers. His major is currently undecided, but plans on pursuing a music major.
AUSTIN MORLEY
Vice President
Tenor / Baritone
In his second year with the ‘cords, Austin has made it undoubtedly clear that his favorite song we sing is “Take Me Out to the Ball Game”. We don’t really know what he does outside of the Broncords, and his Facebook isn’t helping. We think he majors in sarcasm…
MIKE SHACK
Bass / Baritone / Percussionist
Mike is returning in his second year with the group. Last November Shack did us proud and brought home the award for “best beat-boxer” at a competition of over a dozen a cappella groups. He isn’t a music major but he’s constantly in the music building so we don’t really know what his major is …we hear it’s Elementary Education.
CRAIG STEMAS
President / Arranger
Tenor / Rapper / Percussionist
This is Craig’s third year with the ‘cords. He is the comic relief and does a great Mike Posner impression. If he’s not hanging out with his girlfriend, Craig is always down to play some video games. He also likes to make his own music in his spare time and majors in Special Education.
Music Director / Arranger
Baritone
Andrew is our last (but not least) newbie. He’s a Music Education major with a choral focus and hopes to be a high school choir director some day. When he’s not singing, you’ll probably find him doing something else music related, or marathoning tv shows.
